Before lockdown we had three life groups run by me, Maureen and Anna with Matthew facilitating the study. We have attempted a variety of subject matter and were studying human creation when the lockdown began. Since then Maureen has taken her life group online via Zoom, with very good response and results. My group are receiving bible study notes every two weeks; these are also made available for the remainder of church should they want to study them. Anna’s group have taken a different route in that they simply meet for online fellowship without study. At this time of separation that appears to be working well and I hear good reports, not only from Anna, but others who are part of the group. Andy and Rachel will also be hosting a group, at the time of writing it is proposed to be on a Thursday.
As you can imagine, social distancing will remain in place for the foreseeable future which probably means that the current format will continue for some time. We all look forward to the day when we can meet for fellowship in church and in our homes. Simply to be able to pray with someone fact to face is something I really miss. Neither I, life group leaders, or the Church Council can fully know what things you might like to study. We are, however, always open to ideas even if we can’t, for various reasons, use them all. Bible study can be done also, with just you, a Bible, a good concordance or a Study Bible and, of course, the Spirit of God.
In the meantime, I am always available for a chat, or even for prayer with you via Zoom or the telephone. Just because we cannot maintain physical contact at this time, do not feel that either myself, Maureen or other members of the Church Council cannot minister to you. God is not constrained by the restrictions of the current lockdown situation; He will always find a way where it appears there is no way!
