Welcome to Messy Christmas! We want everyone to have a safe, enjoyable and festive time. Please take a moment to read the following information before booking.

1. Booking and attendance

Messy Christmas is a free event for primary school-aged children and their families. There is no charge to book or attend the event.

Places may be limited, so we ask that you only book if you intend to attend. If your circumstances change and you can no longer attend, please let us know where possible so that your place can be offered to another family.

2. Children’s responsibility and supervision

Children attending Messy Christmas remain the responsibility of their accompanying adult at all times.

A parent, carer or responsible adult must remain in attendance throughout the event and should supervise their child during all activities. Event leaders and volunteers are there to organise activities, provide support and help keep the event safe, but they do not take responsibility for individual children.

3. Messy activities

As the name suggests, Messy Christmas includes a variety of crafts, games, interactive activities and creative play, some of which may involve materials that could mark or stain clothing.

While we will endeavour to use child-friendly materials and minimise mess where possible, we recommend that children wear suitable clothing. We cannot accept responsibility for damage to clothing or personal belongings resulting from normal participation in event activities.

4. Safeguarding and safety

The safeguarding and safety of children is very important to us.

Our event leaders and volunteers will be clearly identifiable. If you have any concerns about a child's safety or wellbeing, or if an incident occurs during the event, please speak to a member of the team as soon as possible.

Please also make us aware of any relevant medical conditions, additional needs or circumstances that may affect your child's participation or safety.

5. Food and dietary requirements

We will do our best to cater for dietary requirements and allergies where we are made aware of them in advance.

However, while we will take reasonable care when preparing and serving food, we cannot guarantee that food will be completely free from allergens or that cross-contamination will not occur. Parents and carers remain responsible for deciding whether food provided is suitable for their child.

Please provide details of any dietary requirements or allergies when booking.

6. Behaviour

We want Messy Christmas to be a fun, welcoming and respectful environment for everyone. Children are expected to behave appropriately and follow reasonable instructions from event leaders and volunteers.

If a child's behaviour presents a risk to themselves or others, the accompanying adult may be asked to intervene or, where necessary, to leave the activity or event with their child.

7. Changes to the event

We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to the activities, timings or arrangements of Messy Christmas where necessary, including for health, safety or practical reasons.

In the unlikely event that the event needs to be cancelled, we will provide as much notice as reasonably possible.

8. Agreement

By booking a place at Messy Christmas, you confirm that you have read and understood these terms and conditions and agree to comply with them.

Most importantly, we hope you have a wonderfully messy Christmas and a fantastic time together!
