Our Response to COVID-19
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
Isaiah 43:19
At the beginning of 2020 this verse formed part of our vision as we were stepping into a new year and new season. Little did we realise just how poignant this verse would be at this moment in time.
Life as we know it has changed dramatically, each day we are presented with something ‘new’ as we navigate this COVID 19 situation.
As a church we will be entering a ‘new’ season, an uncertain time but relying on a faithful God. Church will be changing, all ministries will be suspended until the end of April (we will update this as time goes on).
Sundays
Over the coming weeks we have planned fortnightly 'In-Person' services at Taverham Village Hall along with services on Zoom on the opposite weeks.

For each 'In-Person' service attendees have to book in advance, due to the current Covid-19 government guidelines. Please take a look at our 'Events' page for more information.

For links to the services on Zoom, please get in touch with us.

Our plan
Our plan as we navigate through this time contains 3 key areas; Focus, Support and Reach.
Focus
‘Turn your eyes upon Jesus look full, in his wonderful face. And the things of earth will grow strangely dim in the light of his glory and grace’.
Now more than ever we need to focus on God we can do this in the following ways:
Worship

Psalm 100: 1-5
Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth. Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the LORD is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.
Let's turn our attention and worship God through this time of chaos.
Pray

1 Chronicles 16:11
Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.
Read the Bible
Romans 10:17
‘Faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ’.
Read/hear the good news, before listening to the bad.

Support
At this time, more than ever we want to support each other through this very trying time. We will be doing this through the following ways; continuing to run our Prayerline, setting up a team of people able to offer practical help others and checking in on each other.

Reach
Church is not the building, it’s the people. Let’s take ‘church’ to our world and share the good news of the gospel.

We will be stepping up our community involvement and being creative in the way we bring hope to a seemingly hopeless situation.

We do not know what the future holds but we do know who holds it – God. We are continually in prayer for our church family, and community. We really believe that this is a time for the church to rise up, and for God to move and do a 'new' thing in our world.
